Install pins are used for mechanically fixing and installing insulation material which can be pierced by a spindle pin. They are also called hanger pins or insulation pins. Install pins are either stud-weldable or made to be bonded with adhesive for non-welded systems. Pins that can be welded are designed with the spindle mounted to a solid metal base.
The base has a ready-to-use peel and stick backing. To retain the insulation, a self-locking washer is applied over the protruding spindle. Suppliers offer a variety of pins and self-locking washers that can be bought in metals like stainless steel, aluminum, nylon, and galvanised steel.
